What is Failed Back & Neck Syndrome?
It refers to persistent or recurring pain even after spine surgery. The earlier surgery may not have fully relieved the symptoms or new issues might have developed.
How does it happen?
It occurs when the initial spine problem wasn’t completely corrected, the wrong pain generator was treated, scar tissue formed, or new disc/nerve issues appeared over time.
Causes:
Incorrect diagnosis or incomplete treatment of the root cause
Nerve compression persisting after surgery
Scar tissue formation
Adjacent segment degeneration
Hardware failure or instability
Revision Surgery – How it Works:
A detailed evaluation (MRI, CT, nerve tests) identifies the exact cause. Based on this, a second surgery is planned to correct the specific issue—removing pressure on nerves, stabilizing the spine, or fixing hardware. The goal is to reduce pain, improve movement, and restore quality of life.
